Sofia Niklaus

Another of our home grown coaches, Sofia has grown up in the Team NorCal community: 10 years as a Team NorCal player, 5 years and counting as Coach.  Some of Sofia’s accolades as a HS player include two-time USA Lacrosse All-American and two-time All-Academic, and three-time Special League Award recognitions in League MVP, League Offensive POY, League Defensive POY.

After a prolific career as a Team NorCal player including being the GHS Elite team’s leading goal-scorer, Sofia continues her playing career at Colorado College, a top-20 NCAA D3 program, where she is studying to be a veterinarian.  In her first season, Sofia earned WIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors, as well as becoming one of the team’s prominent Draw-takers and two-way Midfielders.

Sofia also is a member of the Swiss Women’s National Team. At the 2024 European Championship, she was the team’s leading scorer, helping them to qualify for the 2026 World Championship.
