Welcome to Team NorCal Youth and Middle School Travel Teams and Programs
Team NorCal’s Youth and Middle School program is designed to give players the opportunity to develop their skills, compete at a high level, and enjoy lacrosse as a year-round part of their athletic experience. Over the years, our youth teams have won 11 major tournament championships in these brackets, including titles at the Santa Barbara Showdown, Aloha Pacific SummerFest, Pacific Lacrosse Festival, the Maryland Summer Sizzle, the West Coast Showcase, the US Lacrosse Western Region Championships, and the Silicon Valley Shootout.
Boys Program Overview
Our program is far more than just tournament play. We integrate extensively with our summer day and overnight camps, as well as our Fall Ball and SummerBall activities, to create a more complete player development experience. We also encourage our older 14U players to participate in the HS SummerBall and HS Fall Ball League programs as they prepare for the next level.
The objective of our Youth teams is to enable players to improve year-round. We recognize that many of our players at this stage participate in multiple sports, and we support that, while also providing a place for lacrosse to remain part of their athletic activity throughout the year. Team NorCal also gives players the chance to compete and build relationships with teammates from beyond their immediate school or recreational team geography. Where possible, we field multiple teams at each level to support different talent levels and create the right developmental environment for each player.
1. Boys 14U (7th/8th Grade)
Our 14U team expands to play more competitive regional tournaments in addition to local ones. We have enjoyed a great deal of success at this level as we help prepare players to be ready for High School teams and competition. We support multiple teams at this level.
2. Boys 12U (5th/6th Grade)
Our Boys 12U program migrates to more competitive tournaments throughout California and occasional out-of-state travel as players move up the ladder. We shoot for Blue and Gold teams at this level as well.
3. Boys 10U (3rd/4th Grade)
The 10U program is an introduction to travel lacrosse. We practice year-round and try to stick to tournaments in the Bay Area and in Northern California.
The talent level of this team is higher than a local club team because it is composed of the best players from teams throughout the Bay Area.
4. A Pioneer in Younger Age Groups
Team NorCal was the first to pioneer teams in the younger age brackets, U11, U9, and now U10 with the change in USA Lacrosse National Guidelines for age groups.
5. Proven Success
In our last pre-pandemic year, we brought everything together and ran the table at the Santa Barbara Showdown. The Blue team went 5-0 and defeated archrival Berserkers handily in the deciding game to win the Championship title, for the third year of the last four. The Gold team went 2-1 in a very strong performance as well.
